This one should be on your list. Pixetell, @ http://www.pixetell.com combines screen capture, screen recording, webcam, voice, allows you to add attachments and can be exported to flash. Very versatile, lots of features but easy to master.

Here's an example of what it can do:

Useful information, many thanks to the author. It is puzzling to me now, but in general, the usefulness and importance is overwhelming. Very much thanks again and good luck!

Hey Gerald, Thanks for the reply and reaching out too! I can't emphasize enough my own need to get more involved with people. The more I digest this new information, the more I'm looking at this akin to a new year resolution to try and connect with more people in meaningful ways.

I have converted mp3 and wav files but not wmv to text with DNS10. That said, wav at 32 bit levels seems to have worked best. The real issue is less the format than the recording quality of the original file. If you record it with a good noise canceling microphone, and have good volume inputs, your conversion will be better. Record it with a non-noise cancelling microphone or really bad microphone with low levels and the results will be poor.

I will do. I personally rarely use free versions any more on a regular basis, but quite a few people I refer are looking for a free version, especially when they are first learning how to make the most out of these tools and get a return on their time and money invested. Typically I refer people to the JingProject from the TechSmith folks when I want to refer a free software program. That said, Jing just covers the basics, because their paid programs handle all the advanced stuff. (I am a Camtasia and Snagit user, my screen capture/screencast software of choice, but they are pricey)
