Excluding Ontok Highlighter

How to Exclude the Ontok Highlighter from a Post

This article explains how to shut off or exclude the Ontok highlighter from a blog article or webpage.

Bloggers that write paid blog articles for PayPerPost or for Blogitive or Blogsvertise need to block this type of contextual advertisement from their sites. Basically, other advertisers are specifically paying for an article and an Ontok ad on the same page will typically go against the TOCs or just plain provide a bad customer (advertiser) experience.

How do you shut off or Exclude the Ontok Highlighter?

First, you need to insert the following tags in the html code of the <body> section of the individual web page or at the beginning of an article in the HTML section.

<!--ontok_exclude_start-->

Second, you need to close the tags at the end of the web page and before the body section or before the end of the article. Again in the html view.

<!--ontok_exclude_end-->
