  • hi, i’m adriana ahner from greenville, sc. i heard you spoke at wordpress camp in birmingham in sept. and was wondering if you’ll be speaking in atlanta for wordcamp?

    • They haven’t approached me yet, although I did speak in Atlanta last month at a local wordpress meetup. I’d be happy to speak at the Atlanta WordCamp or help there if I can. I will likely attend regardless. I am in the middle of putting together a series of video tutorials that is much more in depth (only so much you can cover in an hour) and hope to release that here on Softduit soon. :)

hi, i’m jhoenna pasag from baguio city, philippines. i would like to request more information regarding Moola. please send it to my email at jamienna@yahoo.com.ph. thanks!

    • Moola is simply an online game site, where you can earn money based on how much you 1) play games on their site and 2) how successful they are financially when people interact with their ads. The more they make, the more they offer in prizes/payouts, the more you play the more chances you have of winning something. Its not a get rich fast site, more a waste time type of site that might help you earn some pennies, if you are really good at their games or referring people to their system you might make nickels or dimes even. Currently (as of Jan 3 2010) their site is down for maintenance.

  • Rushikesh:

  • Amy:

Hi Brett – I was at WordCamp Boston, but I missed your session. Was it recorded? I’d like to learn more about building my first theme, and I’d appreciate any info you could pass along. Thanks.

    • Hey Amy, I got a video on my own little flip video. I’ll try and get it published shortly. My trip back kept me up for about 36 hours, so I’m just getting into the swing of things now. :)

  • Hi Brett,
I was at you #wcbos unconference yesterday. I was wondering if you could forward the info about Artisteer to me. Thanks so much!

    • Hi Christelle,

If you would like to get Artisteer with a discount use this link/ code http://www.artisteer.com/?p=brett The program is a huge value as is, this gives just a little bit more of a discount to sweeten the deal. :) I am also building some video tutorials/screencasts that will show people how to do advanced theme design with Artisteer as well. :)

  • Good to see you again. Best of luck with the new site.

  • Hi Brett, after trialling the awesome software that is Artisteer, I decided to purchase it through the link on your website to take advantage of the discount you offer. I’ve paid through paypal but I haven’t received the license key yet. I’ve emailed Extensoft but have had no reponse. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Ken Marshall

PS Apologies for sending you my message this way but the contact us button at the top of the site didn’t work.

    • thanks for the comment/question Ken. Glad you got things straightened out offline. :)

Not sure what happened with the Contact Us button not working, will install a backup option when the drop down doesn’t work. (redundancy) :)

  • Thanks for a great read on your site and an introduction to Artisteer! As someone who would only be using the product to generate a theme for WordPress, are there any features in the standard edition, in your opinion, that would be worth the extra cost over the home edition? Thanks so much for your time and all the helpful info you’ve shared on your site! –Rich

    • Hey Rich,

First, if you choose the home/education (smaller cheaper edition) you can later change your mind and upgrade to the full version (Standard Edition) for the difference in price between the two products. See FAQ upgrade policy at artisteer.

Second, I use the Standard myself and always have. My free year of updates expired a couple months back and I renewed for another year of updates at about $65-70 (forget the exact amount).

The full version gives me much more control over sidebar widths, heights or any custom size settings in things like borders, shadows, gradient settings, transparency etc. There are default sizes and settings offered in the Home version, but in the full version you can type in a number or drag a slider bar to be more precise.

For me this is an essential thing. I create a lot of sites for myself and others and the defaults, while good are no match for getting it just right. That said, if I were just buying this as a casual blogger, I might not worry too much about it. :)

      Hope that helps!
